What Health Care Reform Means for Women

Senator Gillibrand Joins Women Senators Calling for Meaningful Health Care Reform on Behalf of All Women

Precious Trailer

"Precious" premiered in January 2009 at the Sundance Film Festival. The movie is based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire. I have not read this book, but from my understanding it is very disturbing.

Precious Jones, 16-years-old, endures unimaginable hardships in her young life. Abused by her mother, raped by her father, she grows up poor, angry, illiterate, unloved and unnoticed. The movie and novel both give insight into the sad and disturbing world of abuse. Presented by Oprah and Tyler Perry, the film is set for release Nov. 6, 2009.
